The city of Washington, the÷š capital÷š of÷š the÷š United÷š States÷š of

Many people consider Washington DC to be one of the most beatiful

cities in the world. It is filled with many parks,÷š wide÷š streets

and impressive buildings. In the centre of the city,÷š in÷š Capitol

Park,÷š visitors'÷š eyes÷š focus÷š on÷š the÷š Capitol,÷š where÷š Congress

convence to inect laws. Many visitors come to÷š Washington÷š DC ÷što

see the White House. It is the greatest attraction÷š for÷š many÷š of

them. The White House, the official residence of÷š the÷š President,

is situated at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W. The largest room in

this building of over the hundreds room is the East÷š Room,÷š scene

of many state receptions, balls and musicals. Other famous÷š rooms

are: the Green Room, the Blue Room, the Red Room, which are÷š used

for afternoon teas and for receptions held before state÷š dinners.

The Blue Room, the most formal÷š of÷š these÷š "colors"÷š room÷š is÷š an

oval-shaped room connecting the Green and the Red Rooms.÷š On÷š the

second floor, the floor÷š with÷š the÷š family÷š quarters÷š and÷š quests

rooms, is the Lincoln Room, which one served÷š as÷š an÷š office÷š for

president Lincoln but today serves as an÷š honor÷š guest÷š room.÷š In

this room Lincoln signed the emansipation proclamation÷š of÷š 1863.

Other landmarks in÷š Washington÷š DC÷š include÷š memorials÷š to÷š three

Presidents: The Washington Memorial, The Lincoln Memorial and The

Jefferson Memorial; The Library of Congress, The National Gallary

of Art, The John F. Kennedy center for the÷š Perfoming÷š Arts.÷š The

Capitol is in the very center of Washington. It is located on the

Capitol Hill, the highest point in the city. The Capitol÷š is÷š the

highest building in Washington. There is a law in Washington÷š not

to build buildings higher than the Capitol. The conrer÷š stone÷š of

the Capitol was laid by George Washington on Sep 18th, 1793.÷š The

Capitol is the seat of the goverment÷š of÷š the÷š United÷š States÷š of

America.
